Coaches' meeting at the half - this was the Morse game when they won by one

Caleb on the free throw line - it went in!

Old gas can on the tree

Big ol' solo ski on Saturday of break.  I explored a new trail and climbed and climbed and climbed some more.  I got to the point where I could not ski and could only herringbone up and up.  I wanted to see where that hill went and what I could see, but then I started to get spooked.  There I was, way out on a trail that is hardly used, alone, without Jim knowing where I was (forgot to leave a note or text him - he was working on the sap lines), no cell reception, etc.  I decided to turn around, and when I did, I realized I could not ski it - it was too steep - and I have been told to avoid falling.  So I took off my skies and just walked down.  It was so pretty and so quiet, I was stoked.

Dixie - on trail on the way up

Looking down on Varnum Pon - that's the white spot off in the woods and where I started my ski (and where my car was parked) - I definitely gained some elevation with this ski.  Gonna check it out in the summer and hike it to find out where it goes.

On my walk down the steep part...

And back to the car - I ski this bit of plowed road (a Maine Guide I have gotten to talk with a few times lives in the last house on the powerlines up this road) and then it turns to snowmobile trails that go in all different directions

Sunday's ski - from the other side of Varnum Pond - those little mountains are where I had parked on Saturday, but this time I parked in Wilton and skied to Temple and the pond.

Love this time of year when the days get longer and I can start to feel the strength of the sun...maybe not THIS week, but most weeks in late February and March do not disappoint.
