Way back in early July I gave both of my cats a much needed bath. Whoa. That was a trip. I washed Carlos first, as he is the more malleable of the two. He did not love it, but did okay. Next came Esther. The less malleable. With both cats I did the mama cat move and grabbed them by the neck -- essentially paralyzing them -- and washed like a champ. When I put Esther down on the towel on the kitchen floor, she remained in the paralyzed fetal position for a full 15 seconds - not moving an inch. I thought I had given her some sort of heart attack. Thank goodness my little kitty got up and ran onto my sun porch. She was annoyed, but okay. It was quite a task. Once a year - no more.

Little kitty head - working to make it all right in the world.

Not that impressed.
Today -- TODAY the alpacas come to the farm. More animals to connect with - I cannot wait to see what the horses do. They will share a fence-line with the girls (Dess and Taco) -- not a pasture, but a fence-line. It should be good. But before then a mountain bike ride with Alison and some time by the river with her and the dogs.
Sadly, the summer days are numbered. It has been a good one : )
