Rain on a Barn Roof

It rained while I drove to the barn -- and once in the barn (I was singing this morning -- not a usual or regular part of my morning -- but this morning the coffee was really good, the Springsteen song I was listening to is one I love, and it was raining (which I tend to love) -- it started to pour. I love the sound of pouring rain on a metal barn roof -- a barn in particular because there is a sense of the outside being in (or one in the same) in a barn. The barn spiders were working away, the horses had their ears back (I wonder if they are like dogs and can note the off-pitch nature of a sucky singer -- all evidence points to yes -- or maybe they were feeling more mellow on this rainy morning than I was) -- but aside from having their ears back, they felt content. A nice drive and trip to the barn.

And now, the sun is out.

I took this one on Sunday morning. I am amazed by these spiders -- and thankful they are in the barn -- and careful to not walk into their webs and end up with one on me.
