pssst...look left -- into the woods
I went for a fantastic run on Sunday evening. It was overcast and had been raining off and on most of the day. There were few people out; Luna and I had the place to ourselves pretty much. As I ran back (it was a 40 minute out and back) I was just running along and something told me to look in the woods. Not like I heard a voice in my head that commanded me to do it, just my subconscious sent me a message. I had not been looking in the woods much at all during the run and certainly had not done so for a while, until that moment. Still running, I caught a glimpse of pink. I stopped, backed up and there was a soft pink, delicate, hanging, sweet Lady's Slipper. I stopped my watch and stood there for a moment, thanking Mother Nature and all she does for me on a daily, hourly basis – thanking the universe for those messages I willingly and readily receive. I smiled and headed off back down the dirt road.
