Awwwww yeah, does it feel good to be riding again. The farrier has come and gone -- what an interesting cat -- kind of like a rock star. Black Levi jeans, hair dyed a reddish/blackish color, all slicked back but some falling in his face, highly educated, in a band that plays in Portland and really good with horses. I enjoyed meeting him and really appreciated how he worked with my big girl. He showed up in a huge blue van (hey youthful Mainers and mothers of youthful Mainers, remember the blue man van? he was not like that -- but his van was) -- all kinds of stickers all over the back... leather chaps. He is cool. And he works really fast. Taco did great. I had the saddle right there so that as soon as her feet were done and I gave him his $$, we were out on the dirt roads. This Sunday, after an amazing hike up Speckled with Jim, Luna and Moose, Jim and I went for a great trailride. The girls were tough and steady, crossing two bridges I was very unsure of. They did well. We cantered some (that is always fun) and had a great ride. I am so thankful to have horses in my life again -- the more animals the better. I think I really have a way with them and look forward to meeting and loving many more.
Short week for me again this week, I am being trained to be a spinning/cycling instructor this Friday at school through the Wellness Center. Psyched about that. Riding my bike to and from school tomorrow -- psyched about THAT too!
I love coffee.
K, I love that you followed your dream and got Taco and how much fun you all have together. I was thinking about you last week as we bought a boat to live on - Follow your dreams, and life will be dreamy :)
ReplyDeleteHow'd I get such a pretty daughter. Taco's quite the beauty too! Love that you love animals and Mother Nature so much.
