We had watched a video in the morning of a dog back-country skiing with his human. The dog hit a deep part and kind of wiped out. When I showed it to Abram I narrated with an, "Ooompf". He loved the sound, cracked up and watched the video several times. Today while we were out practicing skiing, he asked his Dad to do that with him. Jim obliged and jumped into the snow with him, landing on his knees with an ooompf.
After we tried skiing a bit, he wanted to walk. The moral of any story is to keep it fun, so we walked alongside Spears Stream and enjoyed a little bit of snowfall.
Trying to get him to keep his weight forward by putting his hands on his knees. It's a lot to manage!!
With Wayne and Adelia's new house behind, we head to the trail to begin our lesson.
This place, once sacred, now brings a lot of regret with it. I learned a very important lesson on January 4th, one I wish I hadn't learned. I am grateful he is okay and that he survived my stupidity.
Little bit of blue up over Black.
Off piste - skiing with my girl on Saturday. The crust skiing was so good, we could go anywhere. And we did. Up over rock walls, through fields and along old twitch roads, we skied the woods like they were ours.
