Spent last weekend in Vermont with Alison and Barry. They had rented a camp on a pond for the week and invited us to stay with them Friday and Saturday night. I took NO pictures until this one on Sunday, on the ride home. We had a great weekend with a bunch of biking. Jim and I rode Moose Creek State Park in Gorham, NH on Friday evening, had a killer dinner at a pub in Lancaster and then arrived at the camp around 9. On Saturday we rode a challenging three hours with LOTS of climbing and LOTS of downhill in Waterbury, VT. On Sunday it was rainy, so Jim and I packed up our stuff and went out to lunch in Lyndon, VT (really good pizza and beer). On the way home we stopped in Evans Notch to do a short walk with the dogs. We went up The Roost. This is from the viewpoint, looking down at the Wild River. A beautiful weekend.
This past Thursday, I committed to a NEW logging road for walking the dogs (I am tired of worrying about who my dogs will freak out on the Gauge. It is a big bummer to me that the trail is being used so much more than when I first moved to Farmington.) So I am adjusting.
For some reason this particular logging road makes my dogs RUN like crazy. There are a ton of red squirrels and they spend the whole time running, full sprint. And then they do this...
Friday, after school, I headed to Weld straight from school. Jim had to drop the dogs off to my car around noon, so it was the perfect opportunity for me to cruise straight there. I spent some chill time on a hot rock (one of my favorite activities) and let the dogs run and run. Looking at Tumbledown and Little Jackson - Old Blue in the center, farther back.
Bald on the left, Saddleback on the right -- PLEASE, no wind towers on Saddleback in Carthage.

Sunday we biked the two hour loop (lots of climbing) - at the start of the ride, we walked up to Hedgehog, and this is what we saw.
After a good ride, we headed to Phillips to swim in the Sandy. Jim didn't, but I did. It was COLD, but it felt so good. From there we headed to Strong for local burgers. Pretty kick butt weekend.
