My sister comes to the farm! She had never been (that is crazy). She and I have been working on my parent's 50th so this was a little side-trip after we got our business done. She was good at finding suckers and was quite into breaking them off. Jim wanted to set her loose in there. She could not stay long enough for that, unfortunately.
The new farm store is in the works. Already it has more to it than this pic. It has sides now. This space will be where we sell vegetables to the public, where we wash and prep our CSA members' food and where they now pick up. Pretty exciting and a beautiful spot.
Diggity dogs wait "patiently" - gawd they are naughty.
Jim and I opted to stay up at camp. What an excellent choice. We stayed up there Saturday and Sunday nights. Were at the farm all day on Saturday, prepping for Sunday's open farm day, then at the farm all day Sunday for that and then all day Monday for CSAs. Not complaining; love the farm. Camp is only a ten minute drive away and without ANYone around us (and I am not exaggerating - both nights, no one) it is the most relaxing place to be. The dogs could be free to explore and Jim and I could just chill. So nice. Of COURSE Grampa crashed it. Why wouldn't he? Our timing is amazing. There is no way he could have known we were up there, but his public supper got canceled for some reason, so he opted for a ride up to camp. And there we were. Funny. I had JUST joked about it with Cliffy. "Don't tell Grampa," I told him when I let him know we were staying up there. Funny.
Sunset over Concord Pond.
Love this pic of my man - so cute, so happy, so freaking fun.
Open Farm day - machinery out in the field, everything mowed and weeded.
Afternoon walk after the public had gone home and we had celebrated miss A's birthday with cake and home-made ice cream.
Camp Driveway - beautiful birches.
