Oh, what better gift than a snow day on my favorite day of the year - on a Friday before vacation to boot. It felt very serendipitous. I would say I am lucky, but I cannot. My dogs have made me feel a bit less than lucky lately, but that's a later post (with blood and all).
It snowed several sweet inches, but the forecast said it would turn to rain around noon. If school had been held, we would have had a half day (that is what was scheduled) and I would have just been celebrating the solstice and the start of Christmas vacation as the snow turned to rain. But with the snow day and a firm grip on what the weather was supposed to do, I got out in the snow, mostly before the rain.
The dogs and I skied out to Varnum Pond and then all kinds of miles around the snowmobile trails of Temple and the edge of Wilton. They were stoked, and I was too.
These two are constantly playing with one another.
The outlet of Varnum Pond.
Hello Winter - I am so glad you are here.
