On the Sandy River in the afternoon - I wore my Tevas and walked upriver for about 45 minutes and then kind of floated back to where my stuff was. Dix loved it.
Once home, I kicked it in the backyard, under our tree, with Esther.
Next day - Wednesday - a hike up Bald Pate with EmJay.
Cairn on Bald Pate.
Me and Dix with Mt. Blue behind us - and you can just make out Ellis Pond (Roxbury)
These two have become true, blue friends. Dixie is there, exposing her belly for EmJay to rub. 6 months ago, I never would have believed it, but here they are.
On top of Bald Pate with Old Speck behind.
On Saturday we were heading to a wedding in Friendship. I got up a little early to get on top of Bald before we took off. It was a warm morning, and this is what Dixie did as soon as she got to the top.
I love the reflection on Webb Lake - had the summit to myself. Nice way to start the day.
Made it to the wedding, watched John and Kate wed and then headed for the car to check on Dixie. This is Jimmy and Laura with Damariscotta Lake behind them.
Ah, you are not Charlie.
Ale House String Band - the blur on the right played at our wedding - Oren. They sounded so good and really took several for the team as far as playing through the mosquitoes. Those coastal mosquitoes are freaking HUGE and relentless.
Oh Kate, I hope you know what you have done! : )
