Kids in the Woods

Awww yeah. Love my Outing Club. Spent a beautiful Sunday in the White Mountain National Forest with 9 students, EmJay and our AWESOME bus driver, Jim (not my hubby). Driver Jim hiked with us. Love that, you know I do. It was a killer day.

Spent Friday night in VT, presenting again about kids on the AT doing service. It went really well. Was excellent to see old colleagues from VT, NPS and NFS. Jim (not the driver) went with me, and that was a treat. So fun to have him there for breakfast in the morning, walks in the woods, the drive to and fro, and the food and music Friday night.

Running what I am calling "Late Fall Fitness". Exercising with Outing Club kids after school. Had 10 for a 3 miles trail run (might be longer, not sure) last week, 6 for soccer on Monday (did strength training with them after soccer) and we will see how many I have tomorrow. They are loving it, having a lot of fun with one another and becoming closer as a group. People think I am crazy because I do not get paid for this work I do with kids. May sound cheesy, but knowing I am making a positive difference in their lives and in their memories of high school is what it is all about for me.
